Meet the Clickers – Callum Loveday

Welcome back to episode 11 of Meet the Clickers!

This week we have one of our ‘newer’ recruits, Callum Loveday.

Cal great to have you here mate. Could you tell us when you joined Click Dealer?

I joined Click in May this year. After working at Alton Towers for a year and finishing College, I saw an apprentice vacancy that screamed my name so I pounced at the opportunity. One of the best decisions that I have made.

Wonderful. Can you now tell me about your current role at Click?

My current role is within the marketing department where I mostly handle the data for the business, this includes ensuring its all up to date and correct. I also assist the SEM team with Google Analytics and make sure that all websites are launched correctly and all data is tracked.

What would be some of the most annoying things about having yourself as a roommate?

It’d have to be my late nights, I don’t usually go sleep till the early hours in the morning, usually about 3AM so that could be disruptive.

What age do you wish you could permanently be?

13-14, you have no responsibility and have no worries, when I was 14, my biggest worry was beating my mates on FIFA.

What TV show or movie do you refuse to watch?

Controversial choice but Finding Nemo, just a talking fish, most overrated film ever.

If you were dictator of a small island nation, what crazy dictator stuff would you do?

My first act would be to make everyone watch The Amazing Bulk. Watch it on YouTube and you’ll see why. Best 2 hours of your life.

What movie title best describes your life?

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, pretty self explanatory.

You recently almost choked to death on a bacon buttie in the office before our social media manager, Joe Podmore did the Heimlich manoeuvre on you, what the hell happened?

I was just munching on the buttie then in a blink of an eye, there is a ball of bacon and bread lodged in my throat, I didn’t worry at first and tried to clear it with a some tea, that is when I realised death was upon me then Joe came and after a long 2-minute battle, the buttie had been cleared and I live to tell the tale. Again, thanks Joe.

What’s the dumbest thing you’ve done that actually turned out pretty well?

I’ve done some pretty stupid things in my life but the one that stands out to me is jumping off the top of a tree straight onto my right arm, breaking 14 bones in my elbow and forearm and seriously fracturing the left arm, but I got 4 weeks off school, missing my mock exams so there could’ve been worse situations.

As the only human left on Earth, what would you do?

Except the obvious choices?, the first thing I would do is hunt down a Pagani Zonda and just cruise around without any restrictions.

If you had to change your name, what would you change it to?

Definitely Benzanté, why not make it official.

Benzanté?! Please can you explain where this has come from?

Basically, part of my job role is to update the ‘Our Team’ section on Click Dealer’s website with images and names of the staff. Recently, Sadie in the customer care team joined Click, so as usual – it was my responsibility to update the site.

Unfortunately, when I took the picture for the website, I forgot to ask Sadie for her name, so me, being rather naive, politely asked my team if they knew what her name was. My ‘good’ friend, Joe, who previously saved my life and who I had thought was someone I could trust, informed me that her name was Benzanté.

What I didn’t realise at the time though was that Sadie was actually Ben Wood’s (who works in customer care also) Auntie! So Ben’s Aunty or Benz-anté.

As you can imagine this caused a few laughs in the office because at the time I didn’t have a clue. Even when I asked Joe “It sounds like you are saying Ben’s Auntie?” he replied with “Oh no sorry mate, it’s Benzanté…. with a Z.” Cheers mate haha.

Callum that is absolutely brilliant. You’re now famous at Click for your dance moves at Gerry’s 60th birthday party, can you talk us through your hand clap and slide?

The Hand Clap and Slide is an art form which takes years to master with its most important requirement being alcohol. So whack on Mr. Brightside, grab your Vodka and Coke and do the Benzanté.

Last but not least, what do you love most about working at Click?

The People here at Click, I’ve only been here a few months but everyone has welcomed me in, when I started I was shy and didn’t know anybody but everyone has brought me out of my shell.  I love how everyone is different and off their rocker so everyone gives you something different.

Well Callum, that was fantastic, some cracking stories to be told from just a short time at Click. Thank you for taking part. See the video below for a preview of the world famous Benzanté dance!
