We would like to welcome Graeme Burgess to the hot seat this week. Graeme has been with us for quite a while now, so this should be fun!
So Graeme, when did you join Click?
“I first starting working with Click in autumn 2012, as a contractor. By the start of 2014 I was working full time on Click Dealer projects, and we decided to take the step to make me a full time employee. I am one of the very first full time Clickers. Back when I started, it was the 3 directors and myself in a huge office with space to spare.”
Lovely stuff, could you tell us a bit about your current role at Click?
“My job title is Core Product Manager, and my role is as a software developer responsible for the day to day running and maintenance of our Core software – the DMS, the Websites and the Data feeds. Although I initially handled this alone, as we have grown in recent times I now work as a part of a team to achieve this. Whilst heading up the DMS team we have made a lot of progress and updates – if you are a long standing Click user you will have noticed the changes over recent years.”
What’s your dream car?
“Realistically I’d settle for an early 80’s wide body Porsche 911 Turbo.”
What movie title best describes your life?
“Lost in Space.”
If you could choose any fictional character, who would you choose and why?
“Being Ironman would be handy with the flying suit. I wouldn’t have to sit in traffic on the M6.
Plus he has all that neat stuff.”
If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
“I don’t sleep much more than 4 – 5 hours a night, but if I didn’t need sleep I could spend even more time with my friends, just having fun.”
What’s the #1 most played song in your music library?
“Definitely Beachball by Nalin and Kane (original club mix is the one to go for).”
If you were reincarnated as a drink, what would it be?
“A Jagerbomb. No wait, make it 5 Jagerbombs. Can I be 5?”
And finally, what do you love most about working at Click?
“Seeing the business grow so much over the past few years, and knowing that I have had a pivotal role in this makes me very proud to work for Click Dealer. It’s still a family business at heart and belonging to this ever growing family is a great feeling. We have the best team in the business and each day we break new ground. As Gerry says: onwards and upwards!”
Well Graeme, we thoroughly enjoyed that. Thank you for giving us an insight to your Clicker life!
Stay tuned for episode 7!
