Meet the Clickers – Joe Podmore

Joe PodmoreEpisode 7 of Meet the Clickers is here and it’s a hugely anticipated one indeed folks!

We would like to welcome Joe ‘Poody’ Podmore to the hot seat this week. Joe is the founder of Meet the Clickers and usually the question master but for one week only, the tables have been turned!

So Joe, when did you join Click?

“I joined Click in October 2014. After leaving Alton Towers and being in and out of temporary manual labour work, an opportunity for a permanent position arose at Click and I grabbed it with both hands. I took the opportunity because I wanted stability, but it has turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made.”

Sensational stuff, could you tell us a bit about your current role at Click?

“I have recently changed roles from Admin Manager to Marketing Manager which was another proud moment for me. I now manage the day to day work for our marketing/content writing team. This team was non-existent a few months ago, it now already has seven clickers so it shows how much the business is expanding!

“With changing from Admin to Marketing, one thing I didn’t hand over was the social media side of things. I still head up managing all of our internal platforms and manage any paid social accounts we take on board.”

What’s your favourite piece of clothing you own / owned?

“Love my trainers so gotta be a pair of them. Either my Nike Mayfly Woven’s (sail pail grey colour,) or my white Mephisto rainbows.”

What fictional place would you most like to go to?

“Big Star Wars fan so I’d probably go to the Death Star to meet Darth Vader. Would be spot on to have a pint with him, bet he loves Guinness. Wouldn’t invite Darth Sidious though, not a fan of him.”

Who’s Your Favourite Clicker?

“For me personally I could have made a case for any of the directors but I’m gonna go with Pippa. Gerry, Ollie and Pip have all been so supportive of me ever since I joined Click but because I joined the business on the Customer Care side rather than web, I was naturally closer with Pip. I have never met someone who is more caring and who really will go that extra mile for her employees to make sure they are happy. I couldn’t thank her enough for what she has done for me over the last three years and I know for a fact, every other Clicker will agree with me 100% on this.

“Work wise I would probably pick James Evans. When he joined Click I don’t think he will mind me saying that he was very low on confidence (due to previous events). So for him to join my Admin team, absolutely smash it, practically change his life around and now working as an SEM Account Manager, this is something that both Click Dealer, and James should be very proud of.”

If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning a medal for?

“Dancing?! Not an all-round good dancer but I do have one showstopper, it’s called the tennis serve. Those that know, know.”

What would be your ideal way to spend the weekend?

“Friday night curry with the lads, probably go to a house/techno festival on the Saturday, followed by a roast dinner with all of the family on the Sunday, then binge watch Suits on Netflix at night. Simply lovely.”

You’re known at Click for your interesting vocabulary and made up Stokie phrases! Can you give us some quick definitions of a few of them? (Keep it clean!)

“Hahaha.. Keep it clean?! Wow.. Erm. Ok we have got one at work now, called a ‘panna cotta head.’ As you all know, the creamy dessert, panna cotta, has many properties, one of these being its ‘wobbliness’, so when you are having a bad day at work and getting a bit stressed, you’ve more than likely got a panna cotta head.”

How do you relax after a hard day of work?

“I like going Guerrilla training in my local town. 45min/1hr class of high intensity cardio/plyometrics training helps me to chill out. I rarely get stressed at Click though, it’s just not that kind of place.”

Who is your idol?

“I don’t have one person I idolize. I would say I look up to my parents as they both have qualities that I think are vital to being a good person. They are hardworking, kind, caring, respectful and would do anything for their family and friends. But I gain inspiration from everyone in my life, whether that be family, friends, or work colleagues – they all help.”

What’s your dream car?

“Koenigsegg Regera. Absolutely stunning motor.”

Who’s Your Favourite Actress/Actor?

“Denzel Washington.

King Kong ain’t got sh*t on me! – Training Day.”

And finally, what do you love most about working at Click?

“The people! I absolutely love everyone at Click. There is a proper good mix of people but the chemistry between us all is fantastic to see and is pivotal to the reason we are in the position we are today. The managers have also done a cracking job of employing people who will buy into the Click philosophy and making them feel part of the family. Like Graeme said in the last episode, seeing the business go from having 8 people (when I joined) to having over 60 clickers in three years and knowing that I have had some involvement in that progress makes me feel very proud.

“The staff nights out aren’t bad either!”

Well Joe, as you would say this one’s well and truly ‘pecked our swedes!’. Thank you for giving us such an honest and humorous insight into your time at Click so far!

Stay tuned for episode 8 guys and dolls!

P.S. – Just in case you wanted to see the legendary tennis serve it is posted below! Enjoy!

Brilliant ? @joe_podmore
