LinkedIn Improves Advertising Options with Carousel Ads

LinkedIn continues to improve its services to marketers with the addition of carousel ads for sponsored content.
You may recognise these carousel ads as they are almost identical to what you see from brands on Facebook. A carousel ad enables the user to swipe across multiple cards to see more content. On LinkedIn, brands will be able to use up to 10 cards per advert and will be given the option to add a customisable message to each one.
LinkedIn Released the Statement:
“Native carousel ads are the next step in the continued evolution of LinkedIn Sponsored Content to help you humanize your B2B marketing efforts and foster a deeper connection with your audience. Since launching our beta, over 300 advertisers have used carousel ads to create fun and informative campaigns to tell stories about their company, products and services, industry, and more. 75% of beta advertisers said they will use carousel ads in their next Sponsored Content campaign, largely due to seeing increased engagement and click-through rates.”
75% is a great statistic, which I’m sure is reassuring LinkedIn that their new offering will be well received.
LinkedIn’s advertising suite began with only lead generation adverts. It has since expanded to offer sponsored video adverts and is now releasing this latest ability to brands on the platform.
These additions have proven to pay off, as, according to the latest performance report from parent company Microsoft, the platform’s revenue has increased 37% in the recent quarter.
In another Microsoft report, active LinkedIn sessions grew over 30% in the last quarter, clearly showing the platform’s user growth.
This means that there are now over 560 million members on LinkedIn, although, there has been some scepticism about how engaged the members actually are.
Regardless of the data, very few marketers would question the power of LinkedIn for B2B marketing. Therefore, there is no doubt that the addition of carousel ads will provide another valuable tool for brands to generate business and brand awareness.
