As the British heatwave mercifully subsides, the excitement for our weekly episodic Meet the Clickers only grows stronger! For episode 83, I caught up with Click’s younger Midmore sibling and Apprentice Data Analyst, Alex! Alex took the time to chat with me about everything from his daily morning routine to what he actually thinks about working with his older brother, Nick! Here’s what he had to say…
Hi Alex, great to catch up with you mate! Could you please start off by telling everyone a bit about how you started off here at Click and what you do on a day to day basis?
And you mate! I was told there was an opening for an Apprentice Data Analyst position in Stoke with tons of benefits. Within two weeks, I’d done my interview and my first day was a week later!
Day to day, my role essentially involves providing people with data that makes their lives easier, as well as managing dealers within our CRM.
Interesting! What’s your most useless talent?
I can whistle like no other. Makes me quite unpopular at home.
I can’t imagine that your teammate, Sophie, is a big fan of that either! As a keen climber, what would your dream climbing destination be?
I’d have to say Yosemite National Park in the US – it’s the Mecca of rock climbing. Besides that, I’d love to climb in Switzerland for the wicked granite formations. Maybe someday!
Some of our readers may not know that you work with your brother, Nick, here at Click. How do you find it?
It’s surprisingly tolerable. At least he drives me here and back every day!
Haha, keep him sweet! What’s the best way to start the day?
Exercise just does away with any stress left over from the day before. It doesn’t matter what or how long for, it works like magic and is a must for me nowadays.
I think I’ll stick to my morning brew and biscuits! Before you became a Clicker, I was told that you had applied for an Air Traffic Control vacancy. Tell us about that!
Yeah, so coming out of Sixth Form, a friend of my Dad who had passed the scheme convinced me to apply and I ended up making it to Gatwick Airport for the final stage. The tests were totally impossible but I felt better when I found out that the guy who designed them was a literal genius. The simulators were cool though!
Amazing. Tell us a random fact about yourself…
I’m an expert in dropping fragile items. So, think twice before asking me to get the next round!
We’ll keep you as far away from our deliveries as possible! There are two types of people in the world. What are they?
Morning people and everyone else. I’m the second one.
Me too! What question would you most like to know the answer to?
Are we alone in the Universe?
Finally, what do you love the most about working at Click?
The main thing would be the atmosphere around the office. Everyone’s so chilled out and it really keeps the stress levels to a minimum. My team is also brilliant – they’ve helped me settle in a lot so shout out to them!
Great answer, the Clickers are a special bunch! Thanks for your time, Alex.
Unfortunately, that spells the end of this week’s episode of Meet the Clickers. If you’re too excited to wait until our next episode, you can catch up on all previous Meet the Clickers here. If you’re all caught up, be sure to join us next week for episode 84!
Until next time,
