For episode 45 of Meet the Clickers, I’ve managed to prise Jamie Colclough away from his computer for five minutes to talk me through his journey at Click and his sugar addiction! Enjoy!
Well, I started in Customer Care with Kate doing go lives and resolving minor issues, this then increased to resolving most issues dealers had with emails and domains etc. From there this then led to me doing it for the company internally.
Fast forward 12 months and after speaking to Shaun and Pete I was offered a place within the Tech team dealing with the internal infrastructure and assisting Pete with the external infrastructure.
What job would you be terrible at?
Anything non IT related! If it doesn’t involve a computer, I don’t want to do it!
I think you’re right there! How many kilos of sugar do you consume per day?
I don’t think I could give an exact number, I don’t think I’d want to either, but it’s 11:30am and I’ve had at least 1kg!
I’m not quite sure how you do it… What’s the most annoying thing people ask you?
Have you got a second? It never is a second and will more than likely mean additional work!
Is there any reason you smashed the lightbulbs in your new house?
I mean, it wasn’t intentional! When I’m not working with a computer, I quite like to play with virtual reality. As you can imagine, you get pretty involved when you’re in the middle of a battle, so when you go to throw a grenade, sometimes the lights just get in the way!
For the record though, the smoke grenade I threw landed perfectly…
Ben Wood’s been known to smash up his house too! Normally after checking the scores on a Saturday… If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Alaska! I love being in the wilderness and away from the hustle and bustle. I love the snow and cold weather in general. Plus, not getting bothered by people constantly can only be a positive!
Who is ‘Momma Capone’?
This is something Joe thought up! Every Wednesday I go out and collect people’s lunches from the local pasta shop, the woman who deals with our order has since been dubbed ‘Momma Capone’ and for some reason people think there’s something going on there!
Whatever it takes for some extra cheese… Do you have any pets?
I do indeed, I have a Border Collie called Bonnie. Everyone who meets her loves her, she’s just full of energy and loves to meet new people!
If you were cryogenically frozen for 100 years, what would be the first question you ask?
Does Monster Energy still exist? I can’t get enough of the stuff!
Never use the internet again or never drive again?
Woah… That’s an impossible question! I use both every day and can’t comprehend my life without them. The internet is life, but I need to get to places!
What TV series or movie do you wish you could watch for the first time again?
Cowboy Bebop all day! It’s a 1998 anime series about a bounty hunter. If you get the time, you should definitely watch it!
What do you love most about working at Click?
There’s so much progression on offer, I don’t think I can name many people who’re doing the same job now as they were when they started. With all the training and learning on offer, you’re free to try out new roles and enhance your skills.
It also goes without saying Gerry, Ollie and Pippa make this place though. They look after us well beyond the level they’re expected to, it just makes you feel valued and makes you want to put everything into your job for them!
Cheers Jamie, I think you’ve summed it up really well there!
For those at home, thank you for reading and come back the same time next week for a closer look at our Marketing team…
