Meet the Clickers returns once more for Episode 78! This week, I sat down with fellow Marketeer and Aston Villa loving Josh Locke. Josh took the time to chat with me about everything from his love for Lord of the Rings to his hopes of one-day appearing on Dragons’ Den. Here’s what he had to say…
Hi Josh, great to catch up with you mate! Could you please start off by telling us a bit about how you started out here at Click and what you do on a day to day basis?
Hi Ben, I graduated Staffs Uni in 2017 and walked straight into a job at the Pinkstones Motor Group as a Marketing Assistant and Videographer. After a couple of years, I was ready for a new challenge, and that’s when I found Click. It was exactly what I was looking for. I’m now managing Click’s social media accounts, writing blogs, working on video projects, building HTML email campaigns, and have a hand in managing our website content too.
Great stuff! You have one hour to spend a £1m, what do you buy?
I’d probably walk into the Lexus dealership that I used to work for and buy a Lexus LC500 in structural blue, a big house with some land just outside of Stoke, probably towards Stone, a season ticket for Villa, a Range Rover and a horse for the missus, holidays to the US, Mexico, Iceland and New Zealand… And I’ll use whatever is left to buy some Travelcards, so I have some spending money while I’m away!
Something tells me that you’ve thought about that before! What do you wish you knew more about?
I have often said that if I could do another degree, I’d study Psychology. I think you can become a Doctor in that field as well which would be cool.
What are you most likely to become famous for?
I come up with some world class ideas and, on several occasions a few years later, I have seen my inventions in B&M or on TV. So I guess if I’m ever famous, you’ll see me on Dragon’s Den! I do want to write a novel someday but I have a long way to go before I’m ready for that.
As a Villa fan, what are you expecting for next season, now that you’re back in the big time?
I’m quite down to earth about it. I’m expecting four or five more big signings but we’ll most likely have to fight off relegation. I think we’ll survive and hopefully get some great results along the way against the Top 6. UTV!
Don’t worry, you can have a relegation party with Jamie and Alex Baker when Crewe get relegated too! What fictional place would you most like to visit?
I’m a massive Lord of the Rings fan so, providing I could get some survival and combat training, Middle Earth would be awesome! Think of the Snapchats…
What is something that you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?
Go on an adventure. Get out of the country. See something new. So many people live and die in the same corner of the world they were born in. I’m quoting a movie there but I can’t remember which one!
What are you most looking forward to in the next 10 years?
England winning the 2022 World Cup. It’s coming home!
It is! What is something that is considered a luxury, but you don’t think that you could live without?
Probably my phone or holidays. I’m always using my phone for something and I need at least two holidays a year.
Finally, as always, what’s your favourite thing about working here at Click?
Sometimes, people buy pizza and they can’t finish it. So they email everyone that there’s some left over in the lunch room. Not only is that awesome in itself, but it epitomises everything Click is about. It’s got a family feel to it. Everyone is your friend even if you’ve only ever said hello. It’s the best company I’ve worked for, and I never dread coming to work anymore!
Great answer, I couldn’t agree more! A big thank you to Josh for taking the time out of his busy schedule to sit down with me. If you enjoyed this week’s episode of Meet the Clickers, you can catch up on all previous episodes here. If you’re already all caught up, be sure to join us next week for episode 79!
It’s good to be back! Until next time,
