Although the weekend is still a few hours away, it’s time for you to kick back, relax and enjoy Episode 72 of Meet the Clickers! This week, we’re joined by Pigeon hating, rock climbing enthusiast and Click Dealer Web Change team member, Sean Butlin!
Hi Sean, how are you mate? Great to catch up with you! Firstly, tell us a bit about how you started out here at Click and what your day to day role is…
I got a message from a recruiter on LinkedIn, I got back to him and he then set up an interview for me with Ollie and Barry. I had a phone call a week later offering me the Job! I work within the Web Change team which means making any changes to our dealers’ websites when required!
Great stuff! What’s the best single day on your calendar?
December 31st when the year is over, and I can forget all bad decisions for that year. Uplifting right? Ha.
That’s the spirit, there’s nothing like a bit of Friday motivation! Where would you spend all of your time, if you could?
I would live out of a van and spend all my time travelling and climbing around the UK. I wouldn’t choose to stay still in one spot it would get boring.
Why do you hate Pigeons?
Haha, hate is a strong word! I just think they are pretty useless animals that just s**t and eat. I’ve never even seen a baby pigeon, so I don’t know where they all come from! I kicked a chair once while a Pigeon was there to scare it off and since then, everyone thinks that I harbour a deep hatred for them!
I’m sure that there’s some sort of professional help available for that sort of thing, mate. As an avid fan of clambering up rocks, what would your dream climbing destination be?
Rocklands in South Africa. It’s in the middle of nowhere with rocks for miles and miles, a mecca for climbers! It’s an expensive trip though, so it’ll stay on the bucket list for now.
What stereotype do you completely live up to?
I don’t live up to any in my opinion. I broke the mould when I was born, I’m lit!
I have absolutely no idea what “lit” means, but sure! How will you react when Aston Villa inevitably lose in the EFL Championship playoffs?
I’ve already prepared myself to be let down for another year running, so I won’t be surprised when we lose the playoffs and subsequently lose all of our players too! We’re still the pride of the Midlands, compared to the mickey mouse clubs around here!
To be fair, it’s about time that you stepped out of Wolves’ shadow! What makes a good life?
Good friends and good climbing, the simple things really.
What should everyone try at least once?
Jack Ganley told me taking your keys out the ignition while driving is quite the spicy experience, so I’m going to go with that for now.
I’m not too sure about that! Finally, what’s your favourite thing about working at Click?
The same as what everyone else says, it really is the people here and the environment that make it a great place to work!
I couldn’t agree more. Thanks for your time Sean!
