Is there anything more synonymous with a Friday afternoon than the release of a brand-new episode of Meet the Clickers? For episode 84, I had the pleasure of catching up with UX/UI Developer, Steven Hooton. In this episode, Steven reveals everything from his Great British Bake Off dreams to his future aspirations. Here’s what he had to say…
Hi Steven, great to catch up with you mate! Could you please start off by telling us a bit about how you started out here at Click and what you do day-to-day?
I started at Click in February 2019 and I was looking for a new interesting job that I could get stuck into as the one I was previously in was slow and boring.
In my day-to-day, I mainly create the designs and prototypes for new features in Clicks current products.
Great stuff. Which single day is the best day of the year?
I would have to say Christmas, I enjoy spending the whole day with my family and eating and drinking too much.
Christmas is by far the best time of year! What skill would you most like to master?
The skill I would like to master is baking so that I could go on The Great British Bake Off.
What TV channel doesn’t exist but really should?
A TV channel that should exist is a channel that has Gavin and Stacey on loop, I would never get tired of that.
Not a bad choice! What’s the best piece of advice that you’ve ever been given?
‘Listen to your gut instinct, it’s always right.’
Where would you spend all of your time if you could?
It wouldn’t be one place, I would love to spend all my time travelling around the world with my camera and seeing and capturing the world.
That would be incredible! What is the luckiest thing to happen to you?
I wouldn’t say I have anything lucky to happen to me apart from winning a pound on a scratch card every now and then.
Try not to spend it all at once! What is the most annoying habit that other people have?
When you go to a restaurant with people and they sit on their phones.
Couldn’t agree more. What are you most looking forward to in the next 10 years?
I am looking forward to buying a house, travelling, getting married and having lots of dogs.
Finally, what’s your favourite thing about working at Click?
There is never a dull day at Click, it is so much fun and the people are amazing to work with.
Great answer, thanks for your time, Steven!
Unfortunately, that’s it for another week. Big thanks to Steven for taking the time out of his busy schedule to have a chat with me. I hope that you all enjoyed it as much as we did! If you would like to catch up on all previous episodes of Meet the Clickers, you can do so here. If you’re all caught up, be sure to join us again next week as we strive into episode 85!
Until next time,
