Welcome back to episode 23 of Meet the Clickers!
To kick April’s episodes off, I caught up with one of the Baker brothers and fellow marketeer, Alex!
Alex! How are we mate? Great to catch up. Could you tell the readers at home when you joined Click?
“Hi Joe, I’m wonderful as always, I hope you enjoyed your Easter weekend. I Joined Click at the start of December 2017 after my brother told me there was a job in his team, writing about cars sounded great at the time and it still is!”
Yeah was brilliant thank you. Nice one! Could you tell us about your current role within the business?
“I’m a Junior Content Writer for Click at the moment, my tasks include writing link building articles for our dealers and my Revhead Ramblings blogs for the website.”
Great stuff. If you could witness any event, past or present, what would it be and why?
“I think I’d have to go back to Nick Powell’s screamer at Wembley in the 2012 League Two play-off final for Crewe. It’s impossible to describe the feeling of your team leading at Wembley in such an important game. Although Charlie Kirk’s equaliser on Monday against The Vale was up there too!”
Favourite sportsperson of all time?
“A very tough one, it’d have to be Peter Schmeichel though. In my eyes he’s the best goalkeeper in history, always consistent and loved to shout! He had to play against the biggest names in football at the time but he always seemed unfazed.
I’m sure Ben Wood would have liked him in between the sticks on Monday for his beloved Vale!”
Definitely an all-time great. What is your favourite quote?
“Speed has never killed anyone, suddenly becoming stationary… That’s what gets you.’ Jeremy Clarkson. He’s come out with some other crackers but I’m not sure how they’d go down…”
You’re stranded on a desert island and can only take 3 items with you, what do you take?
“1 – A lighter – Uncooked food doesn’t sound the least bit appetising.
2 – Duct tape – Nearly every issue in life can be solved with duct tape!
3 – Bear Grylls – I just hope he’s been dropped with his knife…”
What is your favourite item of clothing?
“As you’re already aware, I’m a fan of my designer clothing. For me it’d probably be my navy Stone Island sweatshirt, it’s one of the most versatile items I own.”
If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning gold for?
“Since I’ve started at Click, my chicken wing consumption has gone through the roof! Chico’s Friday’s are very close to my heart now so I’d say I could take silver in a wing eating event; there’s no way I could beat Rocket to the gold though!”
Hahaha, Ronnie is the king of wings. Who’s your go-to band or artist when you can’t decide on something to listen to?
“I’d probably say Drake, he features on nearly all of my playlists. He’s got a song for every mood and event.”
In 50 years, what will people be nostalgic for?
“Driver’s cars, our vehicles are controlled by computers now and while this may save lives, it takes a lot of the fun away from driving. Cars like the Mazda MX-5 and Mitsubishi Evo may not be the fastest by today’s standards but they put a smile on your face every time you get behind the wheel.”
What is it like working with your brother at Click?
“Horrendous. Haha, no, it’s actually really fun. When Jamie moved out we didn’t see that much of each other, so to work in the same team as him now is great. Although he definitely takes advantage of my exceptional tea making skills…”
Lastly, what do you love most about working at Click?
“I’m sure people can guess the answer before reading it, it’s the people. Everyone is so friendly and really make you feel like part of the family.
You couldn’t ask to work for anyone better than Gerry, Pippa and Ollie, they’re genuinely nice people who care about everyone they employ and it’s great to see they’re getting the recognition they deserve.”
You’re definitely not wrong there Alex. Well, thanks for taking part in Meet the Clickers, we hope the readers at home enjoyed it as much as I did! Until next time…
