In this months Meet the Clicker we talk to Jay from Customer Care.
Hi Jay, tell us what your role is at Click?
I am a customer care executive, I deal with any queries or problems dealers have.
That sounds like a very varied job!
Oh yeah, it’s never the same thing. It could be a figure out of place or something more major, we never get the same thing twice, it can be quite unpredictable. I love it.
What got you into loving the Customer Care role?
So I used to do customer service for another company and just loved it, I have one personality out of the office and as soon as I answer the phone I am a completely different person.
I know a lot of people at Click before joining, I used to play football with a lot of them. I got to know them and how friendly they are and knew I wanted to work there.
You mentioned football, is that one of your hobbies?
Definitely, I don’t play it so much anymore, I got injured just before lockdown. I tore the ligaments in my shoulder.
Ben and I run a team together so do that more than anything now. I am basically secretary, I deal with fines and I am the first port of call for anyone wanting to contact the team really
That sounds very similar to your role at Click
It is in a way similar, yeah. I love it, I’ve been doing it for 4 years.
What other things do you do outside of Click?
Since I was 5 or 6 I’ve been a gamer, so I play Xbox a lot. I do a lot of cosplay too, I like going to comic cons in costumes I’ve created.
The first one I did was from a game called Rainbow Six Siege. After that I went as the Red Hood, that cost me a lot to make, I bought a real leather Red Hood jacket and added a jacket insole to act as the armour.
I am working on one at the moment from the game Fall Out, that one has been expensive and time-consuming. I build a lot of the armours from foam and that’s the messiest and most time-consuming part. Foam dust goes everywhere.
What got you into cosplay?
I’ve always liked dressing up like fancy dress on nights out and it just progressed from there, I just thought why not do it when I go to comic cons. My friends dress up too but they aren’t quite as into it.
I have been a few comic cons in Wales and Stoke, but at the moment I’ve not really got anyone to go with because all my friends are wither working or got other stuff on.
I’ve been reading a lot of comic books recently too, I looked at cosplay for some of the Marvel characters, they are very expensive! I looked at an Iron Man, almost a grand, 3d printed, fully moving all the lights.
You mentioned Marvel there, who’s your favourite Marvel character?
Spiderman. 100%. But not just any Spiderman, Spiderman from Into The Spiderverse.
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself?
My Dad got me into collecting memorabilia, like figures from games, Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones and Pop Figures.
Finally, what do you love most about Click?
Everything. The work, the people, it’s just a great place to work for. I love it.
