Pinterest is an often-overlooked social networking site when it comes to business use with a business account, but with around 175 million consumers, it provides plenty of potential for conversion.
For more information about what Pinterest is and why your dealership might want to set up an account, see our blog, ‘How Pinterest Can Help Dealers Achieve Their Targets.’
If you decide that you do want to get your dealership on the social media platform, here is how to get started:
Set Up Your Account
To start using Pinterest, click here to sign your business up. It should not take more than 30 seconds, you will just be asked for your business name, email and business type and you will also be given the option to provide a link to your website.
Make sure that yours is a business account, as these are much better for marketing. This is because Pinterest business accounts offer special features, such as Pinterest Analytics and Pin stats, which help you to measure interaction with your posts. A business account also allows you to create adverts.
Once your dealership’s account is set up…
Complete Your Profile
People on Pinterest will visit your profile to find out more about your business, so make sure that the “about you” section explains what your business does and what makes you unique. Using your company logo as your profile picture will also help users to identify your Pins.
Make a Board
Before you can start adding pins, you will need to create a board. Each of your boards should have a specific theme to help visitors navigate them, for example, you could have boards for different manufacturers or types of car. Just think about which topics are most fitting for your business.
Create Pins
After choosing a theme and making a board, you are free to start adding pins. It is a good idea to choose images and posts that add a bit of personality, as this will make people want to read and share them.
If your dealership has a blog, Pinterest is an ideal place to upload articles to receive engagement. Blogs can really help your dealership stand out from competitors, presenting your business as one that will go the extra mile to help and advise customers.
