Incorporating a blog on your website may not be something that has ever struck you as something that your dealership needs, but now’s the time to consider it!
Business blogging involves the creation of content as a way of increasing online visibility and it can prove incredibly valuable to dealers for an array of differing reasons.
1 – Target Potential Customers
For dealers, a blog is a fantastic way of creating confidence in your brand and building valuable customer relationships as well as sales. Positioning your business as an industry expert by writing thought provoking and helpful content, will encourage customers to look to you as a reliable source of knowledge and then, in turn, come to you and buy in the future.
2 – Boost Your Website Traffic
Blogging is one of the best things you can do for your SEO. It gives your website two things that search engines will reward you for: a higher number of Google indexed pages and fresh content, which will suggest to search engines that they should be constantly crawling through your website to check for new content. This will increase your chances of appearing on the first pages of search results.
3 – Convert Your Traffic
Not only does blogging boost your website traffic, but it also presents an opportunity to directly convert that traffic into leads. You could include a call-to-action on each article you upload to your blog, and this way, when a visitor finds one of your blog posts, they may be inclined to explore your products and services. These call-to-actions could be things like: ‘Check out our current range of quality used cars’ or ‘Get a free finance quote here’ and include a link to your showroom or finance pages.
4 – Convert Your Leads
Blogging could make life a whole lot easier for your sales team. If a visitor to your site has found your blog valuable, they are likely to be more receptive to sales pitches.
5 – Establish Yourself as an Industry Expert
Whether you choose to write educational pieces, such as guides to car finance, entertaining pieces, like car reviews, or pieces about industry news, you will be showing your audience that you know your stuff. This may encourage certain car buyers who are unsure of exactly what they want, to come to you and trust your advice.
6 – Develop a Community
At Click Dealer, we try to create a range of informative, entertaining and helpful blog pieces, but some of our most viewed articles are ones that are personal to our company. If your dealership has done something that you think is newsworthy, get it out there! You could also give your readers an insight into the inner-workings of your business, which is a great way of building customer trust and loyalty. If you haven’t seen our fantastic Meet the Clickers episodes yet, check them out for some inspiration!
7 – Create Valuable Connections
If your blog is filled with valuable thoughts and information, you will be considered an industry expert, not just by your target audience, but by others in your field who may reach out to you after reading your articles. This could lead to you expanding your business network and gaining useful contacts.
8 – Gain Leads Through Social Media
Your blog articles may be found in organic searches, but wouldn’t it be great if they were also seen by people who weren’t even looking for them? With every blog piece you upload to your website, you should also be posting it on all of your business’s social media channels. On networking sites, your content can be shared, giving you the potential to massively extend your reach.
9 – Get Ahead of the Competition
So many business people do not even think about starting a company blog and those who do usually quickly dismiss it, imagining that it will be a time-consuming project with little reward. As all of my previous points show, business blogging is incredibly beneficial and companies who are put off by it are making it easy for you to stand out. The sooner you start blogging and getting web pages indexed before your competitors realise what they are missing, the better!
10 – Achieve Results by Doing Absolutely Nothing
So, I have demonstrated that blogs increase your:
- Search Engine Ranking
- Industry Authority
- Website Traffic
- Leads
- Industry Connections
The great thing about blogs is that they do all of these things forever! You may get more leads when you initially post an article, but once it’s out there, it could continue to rank and bring in traffic for years to come. This means that you can sit back and let your blog bring in the leads.
