In this months Meet the Clickers we talk to Jake from the Web Delivery team
Hey Jake, so you have been at Click 7 years now, happy anniversary! Tell us how you got started at Click Dealer.
I had just finished my degree at Staffs Uni and on UniTemps there was a summer job on there for a 3-month temp, both me and Shane had interviews with Ollie and got in…and the rest is history!
What is your role at Click?
I work as part of the web delivery team. My main focus is managing the website amendments and also progressed into some more technical amends and bespoke builds.
Have you always worked in that role?
Similar roles, in the beginning, it was upgrading dealers onto new platforms. The best thing I did on the three-month placement was that because I learnt all the systems, where everything was and how it worked.
In your 7 years as a Clicker, how has Click changed?
When I started there were about 20 clickers and I have just seen it grow and grow, move into new offices and completely evolve. It has been a crazy ride seeing it happen.
I have made so many great friends through the years at Click. Doesn’t feel like I have been here 7 years.
Have you got any favourite moments from Click?
I love a good Click party!
Also we used to have like a points system for if we helped others etc and I came out on top of that. I was really proud of that moment because I pride myself on helping out everybody throughout the company.
What do you like doing outside of work?
I love watching sports, I follow Stoke City for my sins. Aside from that, I watch a lot of cage fighting, UFC. Used to really like boxing. Been to see the UFC in Hamburg and Dublin as well as in the UK.
I remember one of the pay-per-view events and it was scheduled in US time, so it started at midnight in the UK and didn’t finish until 6am, we were wandering Manchester early morning. One of the best events I’ve been but it was tough staying up!
What would your perfect week look like?
Going out with a couple of the clickers to a pub, chatting and watching the footie! Perfect.
Aside from sport, what else are you into?
I am starting to get into comedy podcasts. Quite different to what I am usually into. I’m looking at going to see a few comedians next year too.
I like listening to them in the background when I am working from home.. in work I’m more in control of the music!
What’s your usual music choice?
My music tastes are varied. I started off very indie and alternative when I was in school and growing up but I love 80’s and 90’s cheese too. In the last few years I’ve gotten into House a lot. The only thing I’ve never really been into is heavy metal.
What’s your favourite cheesy song?
Oooo, Gerry Rafferty – Baker Street, that sax at the beginning!
What is your favourite thing about Click?
Definitely the people, I have made so many great friends, and acquaintances.
The company has grown so much and I love getting to know everyone and helping them integrate.
I couldn’t imagine working elsewhere, I can’t imagine life without the clickers.
