CDX 2018 Rolls into Manchester – The Click Review

Last week at Manchester Central, Click Dealer made its exhibition debut at CDX 2018, exhibiting at the two-day event and promoting award-winning online retailing and lead management platform, ClickEngage, as well as the company’s DMS, Web, Search Engine Marketing, Reputation Management and Digital Marketing offerings.
It was a momentous step in the history of the family-run business, especially as pioneering Managing Director, Gerry Moxham, was hosting four workshops across the duration of the spectacle and Click Dealer had 14 staff members, spread across two stunning stands.
The business’ flagship online retailing and lead management platform went down a storm at CDX! The Clickers dedicated one huge stand to the innovative product, complete with a branded Tesla to illustrate the creative thinking necessary to revolutionise an industry with such a piece of software. Interest in signing-up for ClickEngage™ was huge and we snagged many dealers on the day after they’d been blown away by our promotional video and live demonstrations with our product experts.
There was a key focus on online selling revolutionising the automotive industry at CDX and Click Dealer’s presence with ClickEngage™ certainly helped to drive home the point that this isn’t just the future, this is now, dealers are conducting business online, taking reservation fees, finance, part-ex’s, add-ons and capturing data, using the platform already.
It’s also worth noting that Click Dealer were the only business present which demonstrated a working online vehicle retailing product with live clients as a reference.
Click Dealer achieved a historic feat at CDX by signing up its first ever franchise dealer. The business in question took a ClickEngage™ package, after recognising the importance of being able to offer an online consumer purchasing journey for its prospects and current clientele.
Numerous other large franchise groups expressed an interest in ClickEngage™ at the event and negotiations are currently ongoing. ClickEngage™ can integrate seamlessly with numerous DMS and Web vendors and therefore the product is not solely open to Click Dealer customers but the entire industry as a whole.
One of the features of the ClickEngage™ stand was a charity cycling challenge in aid of automotive charity BEN. Throughout the two-days in Manchester, delegates were encouraged to ride for 60 seconds on our Engage bike, to power the Tesla X around Europe, clocking up more donations for BEN the further it got, and everybody who participated was entered into a prize draw to win a £1000 voucher towards a TUI holiday! By the end of the expo, Click Dealer managed to raise an amazing £2000 for BEN and will be presenting the cheque to the charity in the coming weeks.
The Clickers also signed up to drive TWO cars in October’s annual Bangerz 4 Ben event, which will see four members of our team join the convoy across Europe to a mystery destination!
Managing Director, Gerry Moxham, hosted four workshops (two on each day) at CDX, focusing on ‘Affecting The Consumer Journey: How to Influence Buyer Behaviour,’ which were incredibly well attended. In fact, two of the sessions were packed out and required the ‘workshop full’ sign to stop any more people trying to squeeze their way into the already cramped seminar room!
An engaging public speaker, Gerry earned rave reviews for his presentation and unique insights into the UK vehicle dealership industry, cultivated from over 15 years’ worth of knowledge and experience in working with over 1200+ of our dealer performance partners.
We were delighted that so many of our loyal customers made the effort to visit us on our stands in Manchester, it was so lovely to catch-up and see so many friendly faces at our first ever exhibition! It was also great to conduct some face to face business and get many of them signed up for enhancements to their packages including: DMS, Web, SEM, ClickEngage™ and Click Rep. We love nothing more than helping our dealerships to improve their businesses by accelerating performance, increasing profitability and saving them time and money!
It was also brilliant to see that so many of our dealers took the time out of their busy schedules to come along to CDX and see what was going on, with many attending keynote sessions to keep up with industry best practice and trends in order to stay on top of their game. Our dealers aren’t the sort to rest on their laurels and are always striving to improve like ourselves and this is why we have such wonderful partnerships with them!
The Event Overall
CDX moving to Manchester was a big risk for Blackball Media and turning it into a two-day event was an even bigger one! But in fairness, it really did seem to pay off for them and the success of the event was testament to that and just reward for all of their hard-work and tremendous organisation. There were spectacular speakers, engaging and thought provoking keynotes and an array of incredible suppliers, a veritable who’s who of the automotive industry indeed!
Yes, the Tuesday did seem to be busier than the Monday, which wasn’t a surprise to most but footfall was good across both days, particularly for Click Dealer! And it will certainly go down as a huge success as well as an important milestone for our ever expanding business.
